The Philadelphia Eagles, fresh of their first championship in 57 years, will host the Atlanta Falcons to open the NFL season on 6 September, the Thursday night of opening weekend traditionally reserved for the defending Super Bowl champions, the league announced in the official reveal of the 2018 schedule on Thursday night.
Earlier, the NFL confirmed the times and dates for the three regular-season games to be played in London this year in addition to a fourth international game at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca.
